If we could give this company -10 stars we would. Just got off the phone with the worst, most uninformed, unhelpful, argumentative, rude and unprofessional customer service representative I have ever encountered. When the "Customer Representative" first answered the phone I could not hear her for all the background typing and noise. So she had no intention of assisting anyone on a phone call. I told her repeatedly that I could not hear her until she finally stopped doing "whatever" and gave "fractional attention" to the phone call with me. The problem I called about is we once again have a billing problem with them. The 5th time in 2 years. We always get the issues resolved after we repeatedly call and then finally get someone who actually does their job... No point in going into the details of this call as the "customer representative" did nothing to resolve or even assist with the issue at hand. I strongly recommend to all to look elsewhere for this service.
I can't say anything good about this company. We had them for one month and they would rather cancel a contract than just give us the option to move our trash can to a different spot because the truck doesn't like where we put it. They kept saying they would come pick up the trash and after 3 weeks they finally came and instead of emptying the trash can they took the whole trash can with the trash and left.They don't care and never reliable.

IM NORMLLY DONT WRITE REVIEWS ON A COMPANY BUT WM IS A JOKE!!!!! I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCE SUCH AGRRAVATION WITH A COMPANY BEFORE . THEYRE UNRELIABLE, THEY DO NOT FOLLOW THROUGH WHEN THEY SAY THEYRE GOING TO COME, WHEN YOU CALL YOU HAVE TO WAIT ON HOLD FOREVER. I SPOKE TO SEVERAL CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISORS FROM WM & THEY ASSURED ME A GUARENTEED PICK UP AND NOTHING. WHAT GOOD IS HAVING A CUSTOMER SERVICE IF THEY ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO REALLY DO ANYTHING FOR THE CUSTOMER. HOW IS WM STILL IN BUSINESS? WM NEEDS HAS GOTTEN TO BIG AND NO LONGER KNOWS HOW TO TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS.
This company is a dumpster fire (pun intended). We just moved to the area and enrolled for services with WM thinking the National operation would be a safe choice and worth paying more than other local options. Couldn't have been more of base. 2 missed pick-ups in 4 weeks. Hours long hold times only to be "accidentally" disconnected. Snarky chat representatives. To top off the experience, this last pick-up they finally emptied the can but returned 5 minutes later and took the can with them! Customer service response was that it was an accident and fell into the truck (definitely was not) and that they'd have another can out in 5 business days. This company is a mockery of service. Icing on the cake is when the chat rep tells you they can't cancel your account and have no way to submit your request - leaving you to call yet again, wait on hold for another half hour and hope you get someone that doesn't hang up on you. Hard lesson learned...Avoid this company at all costs.
Worst customer service on the planet, right up there with Comcast/Xfinity. Can't ever speak someone in person, unless you sit on hold for over 45 mins. Every time, I ask a question or a status update I can't get any definite answer. Very dissatisfied that this large company ate up our former local service providers.

He we go again. I talked to waste management about my recycling container fines for a small bag of trash charge of $268.00 each time. I cannot lock the container since it has no way to lock it and in poor condition so they can keep charging me $268.00 each time. Now they say they will change out my container for $150 charge instead of making sure their equipment is in good shape they want to charge me more money so I can lock it. Beware this company is very hostile to their customers and don't care about being fair or making sure their dumpsters are in working order. Very poor customer relations and very bad policies. Look at the dumpsters no way to lock them so they can charge me fines almost every month. Poor condition of their containers I have to pay them $150 to get a locking dumpster each. Why are they so toxic to customers. They don't care!
The way this company treats customers is terrible. I called to cancel my service since I was paying $70/quarter more than another local company. 1.) When I called to cancel service I was asked "why didn't you call us sooner - we would have lowered your payment?" So your business model is seeing how much your customers are willing to pay? 2.) I was charged $75 for WM to come and pick up my garbage toter. This is a terrible way to treat a customer. I hope I never have to pay another dime to this company.
On March 12, 2021, my trash was not picked up by Waste Management as I pay for it to be. The following morning, Saturday March 13, I submitted an online request on their online system to have it picked up since they missed me. I received an email shortly thereafter stating it would be picked up within 24 to 48 hours. When they failed to pick it up then, I submitted another online report the evening of Monday March 15 stating they forgot to pick up my trash again. The following morning, I called their number and spoke with customer service. The lady I spoke with was very apologetic and stated that her system said it would be picked up later that day, Tuesday March 16. Late Wednesday morning while I was away from the house running errands, I called them again to report that it was not picked up as they said it would. I happened to speak with the same lady, who again was very apologetic. She asked if I was home because her system was saying it was picked up that morning. I returned home about an hour later only to find my trash can still full. I called again and spoke with a different lady. She told me she wasn’t sure why the first lady told me it was picked up. She said I was on the schedule for later that day and that she would contact Operations, I presume, to make sure they picked it up as soon as possible. She also credited me a whole $7 and change due to the lack of service. She said trucks run until 7 pm, so it should be picked up by close of business that day. Once again, they failed to pick it up that day, so I called back again and asked to speak to a customer service supervisor. At first, I was assured that someone would be out within the next 1 to 2 hours on Thursday, March 18. I told her that since my normal pickup day was the very next day it would not be smart to send someone out on Thursday. I asked instead that they contact Operations and have a supervisor from that department contact me to discuss why I had been treated that way and if they feel having a handicapped man walk to the curb on a 55-mph road several times a day to take the trash out and to check to see if he can bring his can back in from the curb was good corporate policy. She told me that I would receive that call within the next 1 to 2 hours. I never received the call. Quite unexpectedly my trash was picked up on Friday March 19 as scheduled. On Tuesday, March 22, I received a call from Waste Management to make sure my trash was picked up. The lady I talked to also asked if an Operations supervisor contacted me as they stated he/she would. I told them no and I have not heard back from Waste Management since, even though she said she would ask them again to call. I told her the lack of call told me a lot about the quality of supervisors they have working in Operations.
Tonight, March 26, 2021 shortly after 6 pm, my trash can is full to the top and still sitting on the curb. They failed to pick it up as scheduled again. I checked my account online and it says it was picked up today. I also called their automated system since it was after hours and it also stated that my trash was picked up. I have already submitted the missed pickup report to see if I can get my trash picked up before my next delivery date, but until then I must take my trash to the local dumpster site since, as I stated earlier, my trash can is full to the top. And, because it’s a Friday scheduled delivery, I likely don’t stand a chance of any action until Monday at the earliest when I call them.
There is a $75 fee if you quit their service as they have to come out to pick up their trash can. This is actually the only reason I continued to do business with them, aside from the fact that I am handicapped and I don’t want the inconvenience of going to the dumpster station every day to dispose of trash. So, Waste Management has you over a barrel. You either put up with the horrendous quality of their service, their lies, etc., or you pay them $75 and they will come and take the trash can back and make you go to the dumpsters instead. Horrible business model.
We ordered a roll off dumpster, they failed to let us know that we would most likely need a street permit for it. They tried to deliver it, and were unable to. Then they just never notified us. We had to figure out ourselves that we needed a permit, we called twice, spoke to two different people who said to just wait on the permit and that WM would handle it. Finally on the third time, we discovered that the previous operators never requested a permit from the city, we then had the operator request a permit from the city right then and there on the phone with us. After they picked up the dumpster, they charged us twice. I had to wait 33 minutes to get the issue even remotely to where I needed to get it to. The listed phone numbers are a waste of time to call, you are on hold forever, and the people you speak to can't even assist you. Would never rent from them again.
They missed my Friday pickup then told me they'll pick up my garbage on Monday, then they said they had to reschedule to Tuesday. Now they're saying the driver came by at 3:55 pm but didn't see my can.. this mf lie. My s**t has been out there since FRIDAY. Now they're saying guaranteed Wednesday at 6 am. Today is Wednesday and my CAN is still outside with garbage. I told them come grab it tomorrow and Friday and take the can with you. I'm canceling service. WORST GARBAGE SERVICE EVER. LIES AFTER LIES. Super expensive too. If I can give them a -5 out of 5 I would.
Have been a customer for 4 years a lot of missed pick ups for numerous excuses but this last one is the final straw my last pick up was 2/11/20 I pay for 2 times a week because it’s needed keep telling me it’s because of the weather if you have extra put next to can and we will pick it up I come home can is empty trash next to it I’m sick of it since this past Xmas it’s pretty much been once a week and can’t get anyone on the phone to even scream at they say weather but every other company servicing my neighborhood has been picking up as usual....maybe they need better drivers or less excuses I’m done with this company worst of the worst and apparently I’m not the only one
